Sam's First Midsummer Faire  by Budgielover 2 Review(s)

This was so enjoyable! A little hobbit every day-ness ... I'm sure these fairs are just the type of gatherings they would love. And I'm so glad Sam's flower wasn't ruined!

Thanks for writing!

I enjoyed this story very much. It is sweet and beautifully reminiscent of rural life as I imagine Hobbits live it. I am particularly fond of both goats and larkspur myself, so in one fell swoop you managed to hit all my buttons ;)

Your description of the Mayor coming from one food judging, on his way to another was perfect; even the schmoozing of the young was on target.

Your characterization is great, well done!

Author Reply: Hello Chris. Thank you for your review, and especially for telling me what you liked about the story. It was written as a birthday present for a young lady who shows goats and larkspur, of course, is the flower for her July birthday. I was rather apprehensive about it, as I rarely do "short, sweet" stories, and appreciate you letting me know you liked it. Thanks.
