So this is the elf maid who wed Fëanor! And of course, she would have to have a strength in her uncommon among the females of her time. 'Thee' and 'thou' sound so elegant and pure and honorable like the evles that use the words. It is lovely to see Fëanor in the times before his personal fall which took so many with it.

I know others have written concerning Nerdanel and Feanor, but I must compliment you on how captivating I find this prologue. I enjoy writers who can define the strength of women without denegrating their softness, and I don't mean weakness. Female kind, be they Elf or human can be endowed with great minds and skills without becoming men or being exaggerated. I believe you've captured that unique combination in Nerdanel. She would diffinately be a strong woman to be able to catch Feanor's attention and then be married to him. I look forward to future chapters.

Author Reply: Thank you so much. Nerdanel's character in the Silmarillion and HoMe volumes is subtle at best, so there is much to infer. I am very glad her spirit is coming across in a positive way. She just 'isn't' a warrior, but she also isn't a push-over, based on the fact that she was the only person Fëanor ever took counsel from. I can't see him submitting in any manor to someone he thought was weak. Finding the in-between was quite the challenge.
