Tides of Time  by Werecat 1 Review(s)
flickReviewed Chapter: Prologue on 7/19/2004
What an absolutely brilliant idea! I would never have thought of it, but it seems absolutely right. Bet Tolkien would have loved it. The writing was so evocative, really haunting. Beautifully done.

A couple of nitpicks, for what they're worth. People he knew, people he had shared a drink or a puff of pipeweed, people he had loved, all now reduced to ash and dust. Should it be "people with whom he had shared...?" Sounds like something's missing otherwise.

Still, inside the House of Kings on Silent Street...

Not sure why, but seemed to me that it should be "on the Silent Street...." This sounds too much like an address to me, but maybe its just me.

This was an absolute pleasure to read.

You're right; it was missing a "with" after "pipeweed". Fixed it.

Silent Street is actually Rath Dinen, where the tombs of the Kings and Stweards of Gondor lay. It was meant as sort of an address, if I got your point right. However, I added a couple of words to clarify that this refers to this location in Gondor. Thanks for pointing that out.
