Aw, I love Thranduil/Legolas stories. The whole father/son relationship thing is so cute. Anyhow, great work1 I really like how you added a little touch of elvish! I'm pretty sure everyone's tired of me asking this, but I'm going to just to be safe, I was wondering if you'd allow me to draw something from this story? I've drawns ome things for Iorhael and I've asked other artists for permission, but that was only just today, so I have to wait for response. Anyhow, I really like this story! Great work!

Author Reply: Thank you so much! I would be deeply touched and flattered if you were to draw something for this story. It means so much to me when my work inspires others to create. I would be truly honored...

Wonderful. Even more than the other! It was so beautiful that almost made me cry.

Author Reply: Thank you again, Brazgirl. I have a soft spot for the Sindar, particularly Oropher's line. I am very glad you enjoyed it.

I have never been able to imagine Thranduil as anything other than a very loving father, and this portrayal is perfect. His joy, his pride, the fact that Legolas is everything to him, is exactly how I see him.

I hope that Thranduil was reunited with his wife and his son before too long.

Author Reply: Thank you again, Jay. I am so pleased that you appreciated my portrayal of Thranduil. Like you, I have always thought he was an excellent father to raise a strong and brave son like Legolas. I would imagine that their family reunion in Aman would have been a very happy occasion.

This expresses the very essence of what I think the character of Thranduil is: first and foremost a loving father. His memories of Legolas as an elfling was wonderful, and their farewell to each other was touching. Thranduil watching Legolas sleep for the last time brought a tear to my eye. I liked the idea that, even though Thranduil would be lonely without his son, they would one day be together in the West. Beautifully written.

Author Reply: Thank you, White Wolf. I agree, I believe Thranduil to be a loving and good father, one that Legolas would be proud of. Thranduil is one of my favorite characters to write, perhaps because he is not one of the more prominent characters in canon. When I first read The Hobbit, I was fascinated by him, and I found myself wondering about him when I met Legolas in FotR. I am so glad you enjoyed this story, thanks so much for the kind words and support.

I loved this sad picture of a father's parting from his son. And yet, the overall tone is one of hope for the future too. I liked Thranduil's toleranct amusement at Gimli, which is very unusual in fanfic.

Author Reply: Thanks again! I am very glad you enjoyed this one, as with Henen, I wanted to portray Thranduil in a better light than he is often portrayed in. I cannot imagine that he would have been anything other than a wonderful father to have a son as brave and strong as Legolas.

A beautiful peice, very well written. I don't usually care the perspective it is in, but it worked nicely for this. (The only thing that puzzle me it why it has an adult warning on it.)

Author Reply: That would be because I apparently checked the box without meaning to... oops. I fixed it, thanks for drawing that to my attention.

I am very glad you enjoyed this story, Karri. Thanks so much for the review.

There's nothing more to say except: I loved it.

Simply stunning. I enjoyed reading this very much, although the subject matter is so emotional, it actually brought tears to my eyes. Well done.

Author Reply: Thanks again, eokat. I wrote this one for much the same reason I wrote Henen... I grew tired of seeing Thranduil portrayed as an abusive father. I am glad I was able to convey how I imagine he feels about Legolas effectively.
