Night course in Pet Care  by Werecat 5 Review(s)

Love this! It's funny, grim, gripping and suggestive - and backed by a formidable knowledge of Tolkien's works. I'd never heard of Tevildo!

It's a fascinating idea that the Wi-Ki might still have a chink in his soul (!) that allowed affection to enter. Rather like Gollum still being able to respond to a 'kindly voice' etc.

I never thought I'd feel sorry for the fell beast that Eowyn chopped the head off, but now I shall always feel like crying 'Spare poor Burzum! Mercy even for Burzum!'

By the way, are you a Robert Westall fan by any chance?

You are one twisted woman, Christine. This is darling in a dark, horrifying and delightful way. Please do keep up the good work.

;)

Author Reply: Hehe, thanks! I have a soft spot for everything dark and twisted, if it was not already clear.

Yes, I laughed. I laughed and laughed and laughed. That beta was so much fun to do! Seriously. Hugs, Lindorien

Author Reply: Hehe, thanks, especially for your time and patience. And I'm glad I finally got this out of my head.

Aw, Angmar has a pet that he loves. It's so sweet when he calls her by her nickname of 'Death-wings'. No wonder he went out of his way to assure the critter some juicy treats such as a King of Rohan - proper, high quality food is so important in the maintenance of a pet.

Great story. I find myself wishing that Burzum could have lived and been tamed by Arwen. But Burzum probably would have eaten her...

Author Reply: Thakn you for your review and your kind words.

It's so sweet when he calls her by her nickname of 'Death-wings'.

I'm glad you liked that. My first idea for a pet name was Dragonbrath, but my kitty Sptha has the rights to this one, so I tried to come up with something else.

proper, high quality food is so important in the maintenance of a pet.

I absolutely agree. So glad you commented on that; I was afraid it was too subtle.

Thanks again for taking the time to read and review.

ROFLOL! I love Fuinraw. Three of his descendents live here, I swear. However, they have had a terrible comeuppance in life (a puppy).

I also shall never complain about my job again. About any job again!

I will always share my bed with my pets. Except the fish and bird. The cats would consider them a snack.

I am giggling at the thought of the Witch-King sleeping with his winged beast :D

Great story - you have a most creative imagination.

Author Reply: Thank you, Nilmandra, for one of the sweetest reviews I've ever received.

Fuinraw is written after my kitty Spitha (Sparkle in Greek). She has cousins all over the world, from what I hear.

I also shall never complain about my job again.

This scene was inspired from meditation on the question "who cleans the litter boxes of the fell beasts?" It all flowed easily after this.

Yes, I do wonder about such things. One day I'll make a shrink really wealthy.

Thanks again,
~Werecat
