I love it! Boromir is my favourite character and you got him exactly right!

"Down from the door where it began...." Yes, a wonderful song to teach a soldier who knows too little of peace.

Ah, poor Boromir--I knew him, Galadriel. How oft I smiled into his increasingly obsessed eyes----

To think of him finding himself singing Tom's own song when it was driving him crazy with repetition has made me laugh aloud!

Author Reply: Thank you, I'm so glad it made you laugh! Poor Boromir, indeed...

Thank you also for taking the time to leave so many lovely comments. It brightened my day to read them, and they are so encouraging! I'm really so glad you enjoyed the stories :)

Cute!!! I feel Boromir's pain, having had to put up with pesky young'uns and their infernal racket, and suppressing the urge to tell them to shut the....up! lol

Author Reply: Thanks, Armariel! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I relate to Boromir too, however adorable I think Pippin is!

Thanks for reading :)

'Boromir was now entirely glad he would never meet him.'

I'm with Boromir here. And full of sympathy for the poor chap who has an interminably irritating song stuck in his brain.

(I was infected only this morning with a repetitive snippet of song. So I know how he feels.)

I like the way he feels the hobbits are far too young and innocent to learn his ribald soldiers' songs. He will probably be even more surprised by them when he gets to know them better.

Author Reply: Yes, I sympathise with Boromir too - the idea for the story came out of having an irritating song on the brain, and it wasn't too much of a stretch to think of something equally annoying that the hobbits could sing!

I'm glad you liked Boromir's stance on the soldiers' songs, and I agree that they would keep surprising him as the journey went on. I like to imagine the ways they might do that :)

Anyway, thank you for your comments, and for reading!
