Really well written story. I like the part with merry where he wants to call him perry.
Its vwry heartfelt great job....

Author Reply: I'm glad to see you liked the Merry/Perry part since you are in part responsible for it.;) It was your question about it in one of your reviews of "Blanketed in Love" that made me think I should probably expand upon Merry trying to give Pippin the nickname Perry in this fic. Always good to see return readers. :)

What a sweet story! Poor Paladin, having to bury his dream for a son for so many years, and then how wonderful that his wife let him make the discovery for himself. Lovely!

Author Reply: Thank you so much for your comments. Paladin really doesn't care about his future dreams for himself so much as he does for Pippin, on his lad's behalf. The word that comes into my mind when I think of "my" Paladin's relation to his son is "besotted" -- and I think Eglantine knows him pretty well.

Aw! Very sweet! I love how you have Eglantine letting Paladin discover for himself that he at last has a son.

Author Reply: Thank you! I'm growing rather fond of my version of the Paladin character, and he seems to be becoming more prevalent in my stories.

I can't help but snicker at how Pippin recieved his nickname. I'd always assumed it was in relation to the pippin apple. Paladin's initial reaction the the new baby, not realizing Pippin was a boy was hysterical. Pippin definately has his mum's sense of humor.

Author Reply: I like to think he has a sense of humor, as well as other good qualities, from both of his parents.
As for the nickname, I think it's one of those things that can be approached from many different directions. Much as I like to read others' stories with the apple explanation, I've seen it done enough that I wanted to do something different.
And I'm glad you liked Paladin's reaction when he was oh-so-convinced that this baby would be a girl, too! I've been wanting to have some fun with that for a while now.
