Close Enough To Touch  by ErinRua 4 Review(s)

Actually, regarding one of your Author's Notes, many dog owners hold one-sided conversations with their four-footed friends too...

And this is a good story, very credible and full of tension. Wonderful depiction of the life-saving bond between Horse and Rider.

What a fine story! I literally held my breath at the tense parts...

I liked your mention of "the nodding straw of winter" -- straw to camouflage a Strawhead? Brilliant!

Your description of the bond between Éomer and Firefoot seems very real to me, even to the point of describing the nonsense words he uses to soothe Firefoot. Very nice!

A lovely story, Erin!

French PonyReviewed Chapter: 1 on 6/24/2004
Oh, of course, I could not pass up a story about another Pony! I did like this one. You can really sense the enormous trust that Firefoot has for Éomer, and the great care and effort that went into his training. In turn, you can see the love that Éomer has for his horse, right down to his use of touch to stay in contact with and protect Firefoot in the vulnerable lying-down position. Both of them came off as real characters. I enjoyed this story a lot.

Well, Erin, it seems once again you've managed to turn the english language into an art form. :)
