| Well, I needed to leave a review somewhere here because I've read so much of the story and enjoyed it so much that I have to stop and give you one. It truly needs more, but as I told you I print out the chapters and I get hooked and start reading chapter after chapter and time slips away. :) I really appreciate how you portray Aragorn as a real man with real fears and not being perfect and someone that doesn't always get away, etc. He does have incredible skills and is well trained, smart, etc., but he is a man with normal fears as everyone else. I really like how this story ties into Castle in that sense. I like the Gondorian OC's that you have. Hilberon is a very real young man and I like him a lot, though I'm afraid that his injury might be more serious than I think and I hope he doesn't die. I didn't really like Fared because I didn't understand why he couldn't see Aragorn for who he was, though I guess he was so used to Denethor and Aragorn had only been king two years and it's hard to change to a new ruler. But goodness the sacrifice he just made on behalf of his king was incredible! Not many people could do that. I think I've been sort of surprised that before this time that Aragorn didn't try and connect more with his guardsmen... not just Hilberon, but with all of them. Though, perhaps he had tried and they wouldn't really allow him to get close... he was KING and they were just his protectors and so they couldn't see him as a man.... someone who might be interested in them as people. I knew that Galdur was a bad man. I just knew it, there was just something about him that bugged me. But that he would try and kill Eomer. I gotta admire Eomer for sticking to his plans even against all of the prejuduice of his people. That's a hard thing to do... but I can never see him just going in and killing every single one of those people either. I'm trying to figure out what it is that these Easterling women have... what kind of power they hold and what is going on in Gondor? They are building up on the border and so Faramir is going to have to face them, unless Aragorn can get free here very soon. And I'm terribly suspicious of this one 'nice' Easterling woman that allowed Aragorn to help Hilberon... I think she's just being nice to trick them or lure them in or something. Well, as you can see I really am enjoying the story and so I'm going to go and print off some more of it and I will TRY and review more later! Thanks for writing such a wonderful tale! Aragorn, after all and for all that he can do, is a real Man, and I like showing him as outstanding, but not superhuman. As for his connection with his guards: Captain Fared would not have wanted them to connect with the king. In his opinion the guards are there to serve, not to deal with him as a person. They wouldn't go as far as to talk with him out of their own interest. Without Fared the situation changes gradually, but since Hilberon is the youngest member, Aragorn's interest lies with him.
