I am sorry to see this tale end. It was marvelously written. I love the way you brought Vlohiri back. I can see him as a healer. He is growing into a wise and gentle adult. I also like your ending for Radasha. I had it in my mind that she should be ruler of the Easterlings right after Harisdane was killed. She has what it takes to be an excellent ruler.

Thanks for the amazing adventure.

How SWEET it is. Aragorn killed the witch. That was a nice twist. Only three chapters left to this magnificent tale.

Eomer to the rescue, I hope, I hope, I hope. I was so disappointed that Aragorn failed to escape. Now Eomer has found them. Yeah!!!!!

Harishdane is a totally hideous creature with no heart or feelings whatsoever. I can't wait to see what happens to her. Something bad, I hope.

My nails are getting shorther and shorted. This story is becoming additive.
For one of Eomer's own men to try and kill him is unbelievable. I'm glad this story is done so I don't have to wait long to find out what happens next.

I'm dying to know who the mysterious female is. I was going to call her a lady, but that she definitely is not.

I do love a good mystery and this is an excellent one. I won't even try to guess who the murderer is.

I'm so glad Eomer is sticking to his plan. I'm afraid doing otherwise would have been a fatal mistake.

I will try to comment every so often so you know I am still reading. Your story is so good that I find it hard to come up with appropriate remarks.

This chapter is, as always, amazing. The growth both Eomer and Lothiriel have made as rulers is awesome. Learning to control one's temper can't be easy. I think Lothiriel is a good influence on Eomer.

Tari

Author Reply: She truly is a very good influence...

This story keeps getting better and better. It's a real nail bitter.

I love the way Lothiriel is maturing. Eomer needs someone strong at his side. Being a king is still quite new to him.

I'm most anxious to find out more about the "beast", if that is what it is. Your chapters have a lot of meat to them which make them very gripping. I read one each day a lunch.

More later,
Tari

Author Reply: Well, if that isn't a fine idea to spend lunch time! :)

Yes, I am a very fast reader! I'm a librarian by trade and I tend to read things very quickly to find out what happens and then later go back and re-read a really good story to savor it. Of course, it's the middle of the night here where I live and I've been reading and writing and all kinds of stuff, but I had to leave another review before I go back to the story - I'm on vacation this week and can do this! :)

Okay, I was wrong about Ridasha here, but I'm glad I was wrong. Those Easterlings are just evil, cruel people and make me shudder. I'm trying to decide if the stuff they put in the slave mark was supposed to make Aragorn obedient in some way or if will do something else and because he has a hint of elvish blood that is making it not work right. Ridasha made the comment that she hadn't seen anyone else have the pain he did so, I'm just trying to guess here... I like to try and figure things out!

I'm shocked that Aragorn just escaped again, that he would leave the men behind... I mean someone needs to do that if they are going to have a chance and I so hope he makes it, but I fear what they will do to him if he is re-captured! :( I'm nervous about Dumarin and if he is going to do something to betray them... hopefully not and he's just having thoughts that anyone in that kind of situation might have. Poor Hilberon just needs to hold out for awhile longer I think, I hope.

I'm so glad that Eomer has hope and a possible rescue on the way, though I'm sad for Thor. I really thought he was going to die there and I like him a lot. It takes a lot of courage to do what he has done. I'm admiring Eomer more and more too, it would be hard to stand up like he is and not retaliate against the people that have killed yours for hundreds of years. I hope it doesn't work against here... that's what I'm afraid of.

Well, I'm off to read some more!

Author Reply: Oh, well, Radbooks, that sounds like fun! A week of vacation and doing all the stuff you like to do! So I'm glad you gave the story a chance.
Ha, yes, Ridasha's not a baddie, that would be too much, wouldn't it? But there are still some twists ahead you might not guess right now... I hope! But I like the way you think!
Yes, people - even brave ones - react differently to the reality they are faced with. Some hold on and some just break and collapse and want it all to end, no matter the consequences. Hilberon needs are courage he can muster, being the youngest and most inexperienced soldier in the line.

Well, I needed to leave a review somewhere here because I've read so much of the story and enjoyed it so much that I have to stop and give you one. It truly needs more, but as I told you I print out the chapters and I get hooked and start reading chapter after chapter and time slips away. :)

I really appreciate how you portray Aragorn as a real man with real fears and not being perfect and someone that doesn't always get away, etc. He does have incredible skills and is well trained, smart, etc., but he is a man with normal fears as everyone else. I really like how this story ties into Castle in that sense.

I like the Gondorian OC's that you have. Hilberon is a very real young man and I like him a lot, though I'm afraid that his injury might be more serious than I think and I hope he doesn't die. I didn't really like Fared because I didn't understand why he couldn't see Aragorn for who he was, though I guess he was so used to Denethor and Aragorn had only been king two years and it's hard to change to a new ruler. But goodness the sacrifice he just made on behalf of his king was incredible! Not many people could do that.

I think I've been sort of surprised that before this time that Aragorn didn't try and connect more with his guardsmen... not just Hilberon, but with all of them. Though, perhaps he had tried and they wouldn't really allow him to get close... he was KING and they were just his protectors and so they couldn't see him as a man.... someone who might be interested in them as people.

I knew that Galdur was a bad man. I just knew it, there was just something about him that bugged me. But that he would try and kill Eomer. I gotta admire Eomer for sticking to his plans even against all of the prejuduice of his people. That's a hard thing to do... but I can never see him just going in and killing every single one of those people either.

I'm trying to figure out what it is that these Easterling women have... what kind of power they hold and what is going on in Gondor? They are building up on the border and so Faramir is going to have to face them, unless Aragorn can get free here very soon. And I'm terribly suspicious of this one 'nice' Easterling woman that allowed Aragorn to help Hilberon... I think she's just being nice to trick them or lure them in or something.

Well, as you can see I really am enjoying the story and so I'm going to go and print off some more of it and I will TRY and review more later!

Thanks for writing such a wonderful tale!

Author Reply: Thanks, Radbooks, for the profound review. You are a fast reader, aren't you? LOL!
Aragorn, after all and for all that he can do, is a real Man, and I like showing him as outstanding, but not superhuman. As for his connection with his guards: Captain Fared would not have wanted them to connect with the king. In his opinion the guards are there to serve, not to deal with him as a person. They wouldn't go as far as to talk with him out of their own interest. Without Fared the situation changes gradually, but since Hilberon is the youngest member, Aragorn's interest lies with him.
Hum, you are suspicious of Ridasha... very interesting idea!
