The First Journey  by Manderly 4 Review(s)

I simply can not wait to see what trouble these two elflings can find (and with luck the older "elfings" will be able to have some fun as well.)
You did well on this one...
Please keep it up.

Author Reply: I think the idea here is for everybody to have fun, young elflings and old elflings alike. As for trouble, that's almost a given with Legolas around, though with so many new experiences, he may be too distracted to get into trouble, yet.

Thanks for your review.

This was a nice chapter. I really enjoyed seeing Tavaro with friends. It seemed like such a normal, natural thing to have a friend and yet it must be hard for the king's sons to do that, as we see with Legolas. This glimpse of ordinary life is good for the kings' sons.

Author Reply: I have often wondered how the Royal Family members can maintain some level of normalcy in their lives. I guess the only way to do it is to get away from it all, literally. It is unfortunate that Thranduil himself doesn't get a chance to get away like his sons.

"I will teach him all I know." uh-oh....
"They will not say no to me." (Truthfully, I would never say no to him either! :-)

Another great chapter...lots of little giggles hidden about! ;-) Those 2 lines above were 2 of the funniest to me...had to laugh aloud, especially about saying no to Legolas...I have often thought that very few would be able to, except his Adar...

I am really beginning to like the 2 guards assigned to Legolas...esp. liked those small smiles they gave when Legolas said he liked just being Legolas...they really seem to be fond of the elfling there.

Roitar won't stay shy and quiet too long with an outgoing, inquisitive adventurer like Legolas for a friend. He seems like a great kid...and Legolas has found someone who likes blood and gore as much as he does...LOL!

Just a nice introduction to Herendil and family (I loved Tavaro's greeting to Vanye...obviously these three know each other very well...maybe grew up together), and a nice set up for some "fun" for Legolas and his new buddy
(you mean they can walk around the settlement!???? Legolas might actually overdose on all that liberty!)

Can't wait for the next chapter..... :-)

Author Reply: If I were Herendil and Vanye, I would be having anxiety attacks knowing that Legolas will be teaching my child "all that he knows", but since they don't know any better, they will continue to be blissfully happy that their son now has a new friend to keep company.

The two guards are used to protecting Thranduil so looking after Legolas must be a totally different experience for them. Somehow I just can't see Thranduil getting into the scrapes that the bratling is so good at doing.

I agree that Legolas must be hyperventilating with all the sudden freedom. Wonder how he will cope when he gets home and have to face all the restrictions placed by his adar.

I see trouble brewing here.

Author Reply: I suppose with Legolas there will always be trouble or else there will be nothing to write about. Hopefully he won't send too many hearts pounding.
