I like the way Bilbo composed the song and everyone else just picked up the tune. Somehow this reminds me of the ideas of co-creation found in "Tree and Leaf." A beautifu thought that I hope turns out to be true!

I have thoroughly enjoyed your little glimpse of "heaven." Simply lovely! And as beautifully written as all your stories. Thanks so much for sharing this with us!

A big fan,
Calime

Author Reply: Oh yes - I hope so too! I so much hope to find that Frodo and Sam have become "real" in heaven - and I have to confess - Canohando, too. Wouldn't it be fun to watch Sean Astin meeting Samwise in person?

And thank you for your reviews - you brightened my day very much.

Wow. This was marvelous...fantastic...wonderful... Each hobbit of the Fellowship received a healing from grief in the arms of the son. Have you ever thought of adding to this? I don't have any suggestions at the moment, but I certainly would like to read more of this!

If your other stories are anything like this one then I'm definitely coming back for more! I loved this. Thank you for sharing this awesome tale!

Author Reply: Thank you so much for your wonderful reviews, Pippinfan. I've been away for two days and came home to find your comments one after another like pearls on a string, and what a lovely finish for a long day!
I don't know quite how I would go about adding to this, but I have to admit I love writing about heaven - maybe something will occur to me again someday. As to my other stories -- I guess there's a strong Christian thread running through all of them, although not as overt as in this one (I hate it when authors write about heaven and leave out God - He is kind of the whole point!)

Thanks again!

No way! You are JoConkle! Your story Beyond the Havens was the first LOTR fan fiction I ever read, and I still think it is the best one I have ever read!:) I also read this one and the Shaping of Samwise, and your two short ones about Frodo thinking about leaving a while ago on CoE or Barrowdowns or somewhere. I had no idea that you (jodancingtree), who wrote Another way of Leaving and The Queen's Orc, two stories I have really enjoyed here, were the same author! Wow! I am still stunned, and delighted! Keep up the great work!

Author Reply: lol! Thank you, Lossenchristal - I'm glad you like so many of my stories! Yeah, some sites list me as Jo Conkle and some as jodancingtree - if I ever get published in the "real world" it'll be as Jo Dancingtree Conkle. That's if I ever get over my fixation with Middle Earth, which seems unlikely at the moment!

How very CS Lewis of you, my dear. Lovely writing and a brave vision. Would we all had such hopes of heaven.
You remain the bravest of writers, well done.

Author Reply: lol! Yes, I have to admit to being *very* influenced by C. S. Lewis - he has such a marvelous view of heaven! (Personally, I want to run up a waterfall...) Heaven is turning up in quite a few books recently, but I still like Lewis's vision best - shot through with light and full of lovely surprises.
