Sisters  by Grey Wonderer 26 Review(s)
GoldenReviewed Chapter: 5 on 12/9/2007
I just saw these little stories and they are all so very good! I enjoyed every Chapter very much! And the last words Merry says... ach...*sigh*..I can SO understand him. I would trade with Pippin at once. Having siblings... yes, that would be great!

Author Reply: Thank you! This is one of my older ones and it is always nice when someone visits an older story and takes the time to let me know that they enjoyed it. Thanks so much, Golden!

This one made me laugh . . . and cry.

"He sipped the tea that his mum offered him and looked around his room at all of his sisters standing around his bed. No, they weren’t so bad when you thought it over. Sisters weren’t so bad at all. "

Precious (the good kind of precious ;-) )

Author Reply: Thank you! Way back when I wrote this, it was actually going to be one chapter long and then I hit on the idea of giving each sister a chapter and the story just grew from that. I am very glad that you enjoyed it and thank you for the lovely review! It is always fun to get reviews on stories that have been posted for a while. Makes them seem new.

Author Reply: Thanks for the review. I have no clue who nominated this one. I was surprised when I saw that it was on the list. Glad you enjoyed it again.

SQUEE! That's just adorable : ) Your stories make me happy, and I just had to review this one, because my family's just like Pip's: three girls and then my little brother. I'd be Nell, although I have never made any of my cousins eat a worm. They're all much smaller than me and I'd get in fierce trouble ;) I love how you bring life into a bunch of names in the appendices, you're very talented, although (not to be rude or anything) the words 'smial' (very easy mistake to make) and you seem to have a bit of trouble with commas. But absolutely wonderful characterisation and description and loads of squeeful pippin! : )

Author Reply: Thank you for reading. Somehow, I never got the review in my email and so I just found it tonight. I am glad that you enjoyed this and thank you so much for the lovely review.

That was so sweet! I liked how you wrote Pippin's perspective on each sister finding what he did and didn't like about each! The first chapter was cute about having to wash the dishes. The last was best! Makes you feel kind of bad for Merry! It was wonderful thank you for sharing it!

Author Reply: I re-wrote that last chapter several times. I am glad to hear that I finally got it right. I worried over that one the most so it's nice to hear that it worked. Thank you for the review and I am glad that you enjoyed this.

What a great end to a wonderful story! As always I love how you have Merry and Pip talk to each other! And the way he wanted to trade all 3 sisters for the pony was hilarious!

I laughed out loud when Merry thought he could take Nell and win,and Pippin was like yeah right! That was excellent!

Family is something that we all want to trade at some point or another, but would miss terribly if they werent there.

Great Story!

Author Reply: Thank you for reading this one. I always wanted a pony and never got it. No one would trade me either. *sigh*

This has been an absolute gem of a story! I love very much Pippin's take on these sisters of his, especially the bit where he contrasts their attitude when he gets in trouble. And of course it would not have been complete without Merry's take on it as well. I'm so glad you showed how he felt about being an only child, and of course Pippin would not really want to trade--most of the time anyway! Now, how about a story from each sister's POV on their baby brother?

This is a "rare treat"--reading about another author's portrayal of certain characters. So alike, and yet so different. A fantastic ending!

You have a brilliant imagination, Grey Wonderer! Thank you for sharing it!

Pearl might make some hobbit a fine wife, but I am not ready to let her go just yet. - Grey Wonderer

What a lovely thing for Pip to say! Our Pearls may have the same temperament, but are quite different otherwise. I love your Pearl! Marvelous characterizations.

Author Reply: Thank you. Glad you liked Pearl. I sometimes feel that she has had her hands full with the rest of them. I did think that even though he complains about them all, Pippin wouldn't like to see any of them leave.

Awww. What a pair. Your Pimpernel is a sweet gal, unlike mine! lol... Seems we are in agreement with the farming thing. I write Pimpernel as going off to the fields with her father at a young age, too. This is such a nice tale! I'm really enjoying it!

Author Reply: Why, thank you. As always we have things different and yet the same don't we? I am glad you are enjoying this one.
