Really a heartfelt story, weaved with great emotion. I like that you never mentioned his name but you found out who he was and knew it was Merry's story.
Love it !
Great job!!

Author Reply: *grin* I really enjoyed keeping the anonimity so long, it was rather fun to say so much without a name attached to it at all:) Thanks!

Beautifully written, SilverMoonLady. A warm, sentimental piece with just the right touch of sadness to keep it from being syrupy sweet. Very touching! :)

Author Reply: *humble bow* Thank you very much!

Lovely but rather sad. Any grand-daughter who has
has had a close relationship with a special grandfather
will find this especially heartwarming. Thank you for
a wonderful story.

Author Reply: You're very welcome. It's a little bit for my gf, cause I lost him and a little for my daughter, because she lost her gf too (my dad). Hope she will love it too, when she's old enough to read it. :)

Absolutely lovely, flowingly written, and gave me shivers in the end. Very nice indeed!

Author Reply: Thank you! I consider that high praise from someone as prolific and well-written as yourself:) It was a pleasure to imagine and write, and I'm glad it is being enjoyed.

I loved this - and have thoroughly enjoyed your other stories.

Author Reply: Thank you very much! Always glad to please:)

That was brilliantly written! I really loved it. I had always wondered what would have happened to the Shire after Merry and Pippin had left, there being then no one to remember what had happened. I had always been afraid that the Shire would slip into complacency. Thanks to you and Eowyn, that's not possible! Great story!

Author Reply: Thank you *blush* Well, we can always count on Merry to think and worry over these things, so I was sure he'd leave someone behind to watch over his beloved home:)

This is truly beautiful, sweet and sad, and yet not that sad, as it shows a new generation learning to appreciate the sacrifices of a previous one. And how dear and wise a grandfather our Merry is, just as he should be.

Author Reply: *grin* I have this beautiful image of him laughing in the sun with that girl-child on his knee... Glad it struck a cord:)

This is wonderful! I can well imagine every bit of this story happening exactly as you write it. And this brought me to tears...

“It is a true telling, then?”

“Oh, yes, very true indeed. I was there…”

And so were we.

Author Reply: Thank you, I'm very glad it made emotional sense; praise from so prolific a writer (particularly one as hobbit-centric as yourself) is very dear to me:)

I have to tell you I adore this fic. It is brilliant and heartbreaking but not too sad. There is something of hope in it that you just NEED to have. I hope I am not the first to review this lovely piece. You deserve to have it seen.

Author Reply: Well, thanks! :) That an essentially happy fic can be a pleasure to such an angst fiend brings me great joy and sense of accomplishment *LOL*
