Wishful Thinking  by songspinner 3 Review(s)

Oh, that was GOOD! I have a great love for hobbit stories that explore the close connection between them and Legolas and Gimli. This one is great. I thought your treatment of the "boys" trying to readjust to life in the Shire was right on (you just knew there was going to be trouble with the others around them understanding, just from the look those four exchanged at the Green Dragon before they toasted each other **RotK movie scene** ). Besides, they HAD changed and it had to be difficult coming home after all they had been through. Wonderful story - great interaction, with Legolas especially - and I loved the ending and the present from Gandalf! Thanks for a marvelous story!

Author Reply: Thank you! There are so many little moments between those two and the hobbits in the books as well as the films. And that scene in the inn got my attention, too. Glad you enjoyed it...

I read this over at Marigold's Challenge, and I'm so glad you put it here so I could review it. This is absolutely the kind of thing that Gandalf would have done, and Legolas just the person who would have helped him! Thank you for such a beautiful story!

Author Reply: Gandalf definitely has a soft spot for the hobbits, in book and film, yes. And considering the King's edict about men not being allowed into the shire, I always figured that the elf and the dwarf would visit as much as they could.
Thanks for liking it twice!

I really enjoyed this! A very nice insight into the hard part of trying to go home again.
