Ah, it is sounding VERY serious indeed. Poor Pimpernel, caught in the middle as she is.

And here I was thinking the mother was going to be Celandine! Using your own character, Lilas, makes it a lot more dramatic I think, considering her family status. I can imagine that if Pippin had ever managed to knock Celandine up, the families would have simply covered it up, but I really don't know what will happen this time!

And poor Robin! I never thought of having him as one of the victims of the Battle of Bywater. I suppose that gives a good reason for Sam to name one of his children Robin.

You had better continue soon :)

Author Reply: Thanks Pervinca! I considered Celandine or Myrtle when the idea was just starting to tumble in my head, but dropped them for the very same reason you just stated. Using an OC allowed me to mold and shape her, and bring her to the point of luring Pippin into the woods. Yes...poor Robin--Sam *did* name one of his children Robin, didn't he? hehehe I only just noticed that!

Thanks, Pervinca, for reading and taking the time to review! You're a gem! Oh, no--that's Pearl, isn't it? Your a true flower! :-)

I agree with you that getting a girl pregnant before marriage is not really a "Pippin thing". But I am enjoying this story and I really want to find out more.

Author Reply: My apologies for not responding sooner--family came to visit yesterday. I want to sincerly thank you for your kind response to Roses. This truly is a departure from my normal Pippin...I simply wanted to tell a story about heavy responsibilities thrust upon nice, and unwary lads and lasses. I thought that Pippin was a good candidate for such...things. Merry, Frodo, and Sam would have been far too responsible for such behavior. My normal Pippin would not be so gullible, either. Thank you again for reading Roses and taking the time to review--it is much appreciated. :-)
