Flowers in the Forest  by jenolas 8 Review(s)

Ooh, very sweet bit of "fluff," as you call it. Just what the doctor ordered this Monday morning.

Can I mention that you have the word "hid" where you mean "his"?

The writing, as always, is a pleasure to read.

Sometimes a little bit of 'sugary' fic does wonders for your mood, or so I believe. I am pleased you enjoyed it, and I appreciate your kind words.

I was a little confused at how old Legolas is in this story. At first, I thought he was a fairly small elfling. But after his meeting with Anidwen, I decided he was the equivalent of a preteen. Other than that initial confusion, I thought this was a cute little story. A wonderful piece of fluff. :)

Author Reply: I guess his age was a bit indeterminate, but preteen sounds about right.

Glad you liked it.

Aw, Jenolas, that was sweet! I can just picture Legolas longing to go out into the forest, and I loved the part about the trees that wouldn't help cheat. And all those helpful little Elves leading the little girl back to her father and mother were just adorable.

Thanks so much for helping to brighten up my day.

Author Reply: You are welcome, and it was my pleasure. I am glad the little bit of fluff helped.

Wonderful! Perfect for brightening up a rather wet and dreary day. I especially loved touches like Legolas being told that his parents are proud of how clever he is, just so that he'll work at his lesson - a good trick, I think:)

Also, the way these young elves can commune with the trees and are so diligent about not using this skill to cheat at their game!

Oh, and I thought it was lovely the way Legolas automatically takes charge and his little troop are just so efficient!

Great ending too - a little fairytale for the girl to tell her grandchildren!

This was very sweet, Jenolas, and you were generous to write it for Antigone.

I think my favorite line was the one about the smile that would melt the heart of many maids when he was an adult. I liked that little glimpse from the child to the adult.

Author Reply: Thanks, adding a bit of cheer to someone's day is no effort.

Very fluffy indeed! It has a fairy tale like quality.

Author Reply: I guess it does seem a little like a fairy tale... I like that!
