A Path With No Returning  by Citrine 4 Review(s)
SingeReviewed Chapter: 1 on 7/11/2004
Beautiful. I'd always wanted to write about those poor hobbit bowmen (bowhobbits?) but I don't think I can top this. Sniffle! Thank you, it's a great story!

I should have listened to your warning about having a handkerchief nearby. That was so sad, but mostly because of the quotes at the end... "though no tales of Men record it." Despite Bersil telling Andy that he would remember, he was right when he thought the rest of the world would forget. Very sad, but powerfully written. You had a good idea when you decided to post it :)

Oh how poignant! It goes to show how the patterns of relationships are repeated down through the ages, with your Andy as a sort of prototype of Sam. It's beautiful.

*Sniff* you made me cry. I saw a bit of Frodo and Sam in the servant and the master. Andy was note-perfect, akin to Sam, but not a carbon copy. The memories of Jewel were especially poignant, as was the fact that Andy could not keep Persifal safe.
