Jay's Drabblets  by Jay of Lasgalen 2 Review(s)

Oropher's regret is palpable, Jay. You really made him come alive, if you will pardon my bad taste in word choice. I liked how he feel guilt not only over his warriors' deaths and Thranduil being left alone but over his decision as well. Good job!

Author Reply: Oropher is usually portrayed as hotheaded and rash in the way he led the charge before the signal had been given. I wanted to show why he did it, and his regret.

Poor Thranduil - a disaster that led to his resentment against the other realms. And what a way for Oropher to learn that there is some purpose to strategy.

Author Reply: One day I'd like to write the story of Thranduil's experiences in that battle and his return home. Only one third went back with him.

Oropher should have listened!
