Phooey!

So many pieces/parts of the Elves end in such sorrow. You captured this beautifully!

You write such achingly clear pictures. this mirrors the kind of thoughts which would drive the two to spend the rest of their lives hinting down Orcs.
Crystalline.

Author Reply: This is a very dark time for the twins. One day I'll write a story centered on these events.

I have always wondered where Elrond, with all his usual foresight and sight in general was during their rescue of Celebrian. Back at the ranch guiding them? Searching somewhere else?

I say, very well done.

Author Reply: I tend to think that the twins were alone when they found their mother, but in some writings (HoME) Tolkien says that Elrond was there as well. But you're right, why did no-one foresee it?

Men curse their failing memories as they age; elves' memories do not fail, as I understand Tolkien's elves. But not all memories should be kept pristine pure, and men are the luckier race in cases like this.

A very sad drabble.

Author Reply: I think what happened to Celebrian would be devastating for any family. But for Elladan and Elrohir, who found her and brought her home, it would be much worse. They would have seen everything that had been done. It would be better if they could forget.

Have you ever written a story about celebrian's capture? I think you ought to, if you haven't. This is such a sad drabble.

Author Reply: I think this must have been a desperately sad time for the whole family. I now have another plot bunny to add to my collection! Thank you - I'm glad you enjoyed it.

It is Celebrian, isn't it? Respectively it is Elladan or Elrohir, thinking about Celebrian.

But what are her thoughts?

Have a nice and sunny weekend.

Author Reply: I had a long weekend (though not particularly sunny) as we have a May day bank holiday today. Yes, it's Elladan, thinking about his mother. One day I'll write something from Celebrian's POV.
