Harder to be the one left behind. The days must seem longer - but I'm sure Elladan will be back soon.

Poor twins. Six months are quite a long time, and I suppose it is no real comfort for them that time is not the same for elves as it is for us humans.
And I love the way Elrohir counts the days :-)

I agree that there would indeed have been separations such as this, for with two sons of the house the responsibilities would often end up divided with them in separate places, for the need to have all danger spots covered would have been great.

Wonderful look at absence indeed, Jay.

you do capture the longing and absence beautifully. well done!

btw, i could keep elrohir company for you while his brother is away...

I see them as pretty inseparable too, which is what makes things like this (that must have happened sometimes) so sad. I'd love to see this from Elladan's pov too--maybe when he is on the way home and has the freedom to recognize the stress of the patrol dangers and separation. That would have to be pretty overwhelming. I love your drabbles and you're so prolific!

Beautiful! Absolutely stunningly beautiful!

The way you have written this, it takes us *into* Elrohir's feelings. And though the two brothers are apart, it all the more brings the feeling of their bond and their care for each other.

Well done! Thank you for sharing this with us!
