Poor Aragorn. How they do beset him!

sniff, sniff, is that a damp dog, or just Aragorn and his coat. Elves!!

Author Reply: *Grin* The twins do like to tease their little brother!

Ah, yes, a very obvious connection! A funny, brotherly moment.

Author Reply: Two separate prompts rarely fit together quite so well! I like to write these light, fun moments between the three.

I can see how you made the connection between the two challenges :-D

This was great. I can just imagine how, uh, fragrant Aragorn is. *gags* And I love how he shakes the water off himself just like a dog! Of course, I'm sure the twins couldn't resist the opportunity to tease him.

Author Reply: There's an obvious link, isn't there? :>)

Someone else suggested that he should have shaken the rain off all over the twins - I wish I'd thought of that! Of course, they hadn't started to tease him then.

Hey Jay, I'm sure you know this and just made a mistake, but in your response to my review you said the twins are 3/4 human. They are 1/4 human (actually, I believe, 23 percent human to be exact). Their mom was a full elf and dear old pop was, give or take a little, 1/2 human and 1/2 elf.

I think I've studied up just a little bit too much on the twins! ;)

Author Reply: Whoops!!

*Blush* I know that. I know that! I was thinking about them being part human because they're 3/4 elf, but it came out wrong. And then there's the Maiar blood to complicate things as well.

*Snort* Only a ranger good appreciate a wolf-skin coat! And naturally E2 are going to have something to say about that! :-)

Author Reply: I expect that when he's out rangering in the Wild in the wet and cold and wind, he doesn't care *what* it smells like!

But E2 can't resist annoying him, of course :>)

I should think that wet warg wasn't much worse than Aragorn's usual post-patrol fragrance. I'm surprised Elrond didn't set up an outdoor shower system and fumigation block on the banks of the Bruinen - rangers for the cleansing of - before letting them approach Imladris more closely.

Although, come to think of it, wet dog is a vile pong - so wet warg might outstink general unwashed ranger.

And I wonder if Elladan and Elrohir have desensitised their noses a bit by spending time among men ... and in the Pony. Arwen would in all likelihood run all the way back to Grandmama at the smell of that cloak ...

Author Reply: I know the smell of damp dog only too well - and I imagine wet warg would be ten times worse.

The twins probably are used to smells like that, but they just enjoy winding Aragorn up!

Very cute. I enjoy reading about such little moments between the brothers. It must have been hard for poor Aragorn to be a smelly human around those sensitve elven noses. I wonder what Arwen thought of it.

Author Reply: I'm not sure the twins are quite that sensitive - after all, they are 3/4 human. They just can't resist teasing their little brother!

Author Reply: *Cough* That would be 1/4 human, 3/4 elf, of course ...

Thanks for pointing out that slight brainstorm!

Heh! Yes, an uncomfortable smell, to be certain. And a good addition to the line of stories generated.

Author Reply: I imagine wet warg is ten times worse than damp dog. And that's bad enough!

ellieReviewed Chapter: 81 on 3/23/2007
How funny! How brotherly, too, to tell some they stink in such a way.

Author Reply: I think anyone else would have been much more polite about it. Trust the twins to be so rude!
