Heh-heh...I can imagine those two stuck on a cliff face, trying to maintain their dignity while being rescued by a group of highly amused dwarves. Poor things! ~TF

Author Reply: *Sigh* I often wish I could draw, so I could draw a picture of how I saw this! E&E just hope that no-one at home ever finds out.

A lovely use of that passage from the books used by other characters. Quite a difference from Strider's assertion that his cuts, long or short, don't go wrong.

Author Reply: I think the twins were quite young when that happened, but Elladan has never let his brother forget it. They have more sense and experience now!

One of the things I'm enjoying about the 50 Passages challenge is using the prompts in such different settings.

Well, the longest way between two points is a shortcut, isn't it? The more so if there is a cliff or something like it. And of course it was not Elrohir's fault. How could Elladan even think that? ;-)

Author Reply: Of course it wasn't Elrohir's fault. Someone followed him along that path - and someone followed him down that cliff ... :>)

Rescued by dwarves! Eternal embarrassment. The dwarves might no longer be around to recall the incident, but Elladan is - and I can't see him letting the matter go. Probably just as well that Elrohir must have similar weapons to use against Elladan. Still. I would have thought that Elrohir would have given up on suggesting shortcuts through woods!

Author Reply: Embarrassing? Oh, yes. They just hope that no-one at home will ever find out. Elrohir, however, would like to point out that no-one forced Elladan to follow him down that cliff!

I can just imaging those two bikker at eachother like that, and Elrohir losing more often than he likes to ;) Just great having an "older" brother isn't it??
And for short cuts, they always turn out longer, no mater if you're a human or an elf, trust me I know!!

Author Reply: I think they bicker and tease each other a lot, but rarely argue for real. Elrohir rather wishes his brother would forget about this incident, though. (BTW, although they're twins, Elladan always calls Elrohir 'little brother', because he knows it annoys him!)

Hehehe! It had to have happened, as long as elves live and as ... ahem...adventurous as these two are. And being saved by dwarves! Well I suppose that is better than by Glorfindel, for then one would have to listen to his teasing. Of course if he ever found out about the dwarves, the teasing would be even worse so...

Love these drabbles, Jay. :-)

Author Reply: Can you imagine how embarrassing it must have been? I think they never mentioned this little incident at home ...
