| I love this story! It's so interesting to see the characters that are usually the (sometimes) responsible parents in fics as the immature children! I think you've done a good job in making Paladin a little like Pippin, but not quite. And though Addie takes on the "older cousin" role, he's certainly not Merry! You'd better hurry up soon! I'm as anxious as Cousin Merry to find out who is chasing the adventurers :P Author Reply: Thank you, Pervinca--very observant! Yes, I have depicted them as having a "Pippin/Merry" type relationship, but not altogether the same. I have written Paladin a bit more independent. | Poor Esmeralda and Bilbo! Both are taking the blame on this one. Add to that in Esmeralda's case that she is having to join forces with that Saradoc Brandybuck! LOL Good thing too or no Merry for later stories. You've made me hungry with the stew and so I am off to eat. Post a few more chapters while I'm out why don't you? (hint, hint) Author Reply: Because they are trustworthy--I guess I'm sort of making a statement in that Saradoc wasn't always the "odd" sort in his son's life. Esmeralda wouldn't marry a jerk.
