Quite a lovely little short story. I always enjoy reading about the friendship of Aragorn and Legolas.

Such a lovely, sweet little scene... it captures the essence of their friendship so well. I am glad I read this...

I don't remember reading the quote of Legolas from
ROTK, but oh, Aragorn, would have made a fearsome Dark
Lord. I enjoyed your story a lot = much of it seemed
almost poetry. Good work!

Hi Pixie!

I just read your story and I love its sentiment. I think you handle emotion really well in it. Don't worry about posting here, or at HASA or anywhere else; none of us are writing gods, and we're all in it to enjoy witing and improve in the doing of it and share it with our friends! And on that note, thank you for sharing this!

I did notice a couple of things in the story, and I can make further comment, if you like, but I didn't want to do that without your permission, and I also didnt want you to think I didn't like the story, I did!

Feel free to ignore me, I will not be in the least offended, but if you would like me to comment further, I am more than happy to.

Thank you for this story!

This is a very charming vignette. You portrayed both Legolas and Aragorn just the way I would imagine they would be with each other. Aragorn's fears are very valid, and Legolas said just the right thing to ease the doubts of a concerned king. Very nicely done..

This is a lovely, well-written story. You've written Aragorn's fears perfectly. And Legolas' reactions to everything is great. Wonderful story. :)

Wow. That was really lovey.

ˇ°In that hour I looked on Aragorn and thought how great and terrible a Lord he might have become in the strength of his will, had he taken the Ring to himself.ˇ± is one my favorite lines and I'm so happy to have read a fic that conveys its meaning so perfectly.

"It was not on a whim that you were named, Estel. Sometimes Hope is all we have. But that is well, because it is all we need.ˇ±was a really great line. And it's wonderful how Legolas is portrayed as a thoughtful character here, rather than a brooding or flightly elf.

Cheers.

OK, let's see if I can actually add TEXT this time.... ;-) Sorry about that, I hit the button too soon.

Pix, this is charming! I like the play you do with words, and love how you have handled the characters. I especially liked Aragorn examining the Ring of Barahir and seeing all the nicks and scratches placed on it over the centuries... your Aragorn is solemn and wise, troubled and yet can still smile; your Legolas is that delightful mix Tolkien gave him of young and old, wise and youthful, exuberant and quiet. Bravo!!

A very fine job, and a delightful story! I hope we will see more from you!

Cheers,
Jasta

Oh, this is very nice. Sweet, slightly sad, and with just the right touch of humor. A lovely vignette, and Aragorn's fears and obligations are perfectly portrayed, as is Legolas' teasing exasperation. Beautifully done.
