The Exercise of Vital Powers  by Soledad 2 Review(s)

This is a wonderfully fresh interpretation of the Denethor-Finduilas relationship - and I really enjoyed it. One of the Tolkien's tropes is to use absent mothers as a symbol for decade and infertility, and I thought Finduilas's illness mirrored it beautifully. She sounds like a strong woman - not the wilting flower she is usually portrayed as, and the confrontation between her and Throngil was well-managed. He should learn the dangers of underestimating women! I hope you intend to continue this - soon!

Author Reply: Thank you for your interest and especially for taking the time to comment. I do intend to continue the story as soon as my muse chooses to cooperate again. :)
