O, that was so sweet and beautiful. :) Poor Frodo. And poor Aragorn. The first scenes were hilarious :)

What a touching story, with a glimpse of a young mischievious Frodo. I love it!
So nice for him to have a brief respite after the agony and horror of Mordor, and to realise that to appreciate the sun we must acknowledge the shadows.

Author Reply: My, you put that more eloquently than I managed. Thanks so much; I'm very glad you enjoyed this.

I knew I was going to like this before I even started reading this - just something about stories after the Quest at Minis Tirith that I just love so much.

Then when I actually got to read it - I was even more sure of how good it was - just loved it - the fact that Frodo is getting hurt and others are concerned. The whole set up of how he was hurt was very well done - in an atmosphere that kept you wondering what was going to happen. You knew something was going to happen - but to whom and what was a little mystery for the first few lines.

I love Faramir being a part of any story after the Quest and his level of care and friendship to Frodo - almost as much as Aragorn but on a different level.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful writing talent - I would have loved to see this continue into a length story - but if not - then I will be more than happy to read whatever you wish to share next.

Author Reply: Thanks so much for taking time to write such kind comments. I, too, love post-Quest stories while the hobbits are still with their friends from the Fellowship -- and the new people, like Eomer, Eowyn, and Faramir. Since the book leaves us a lot of time with very little detail, imaginations can run wild as to how hobbits would cope in that beautiful city full of big people.

Wicked man who hit Frodo! Yet it was good for him to have a couple more care free days to look back on! It was very sad though when he first work up and had to be introduced to everyone. I liked the prank they tried to play but that got so messed up! That it was Frodo's idea made it even better! I liked at the very end when Frodo was talking to Aragorn about some things that shouldn't be forgotten! Thank you for such a nice story!

Author Reply: Thank *you,* Hai, for reading and commenting. I'm glad you enjoyed Frodo being a bit of a scoundrel -- I like to think he's the one who taught Merry and Pippin all they know about "borrowing" food.

I simply love this vignette. When Frodo is finally able to "remember" not being able to remember, he accepts it all with grace and wisdom. And the love and tenderness of all of his friends is a joy. Such a wonderful, wonderful story.

Author Reply: Thanks, Shirebound -- I'm glad you enjoyed it. And you're very kind to review here after you already sent me feedback.
