| I like that they each saw something of interest in the other, before they were introduced. And the opportunity to become better acquainted, how foresightful of Elrond, and how accommodatng of Thranduil! Despite the lack of the Els, I see we get a little humour “I thought Elves were supposed to have a way with animals?” seems destined to become Estel's catch phrase! Thank you - another adventure of pre-LOTR Legolas/elvenkind - my very favourite! (no offence to Hobbits, Men, or Dwarves, but the elves are special - particularly wood-elves - oh, and I don't mind offending Orcs, or Trolls, or Wargs, or Dunlendings, or Har...) | |

| Very interesting opening chapter, Jay. I like your take on the Legolas - Aragorn meeting. For once, they didn't meet as a result of an accident, a fight, a hatred, or any of the other standard fanfiction reasons for the meeting. They simply met. A nice change. If this is a story that you've already posted elsewhere, I must have missed it. So whether it's new or not, it's new to me. I'm looking forward to reading more of it. LKK PS: Loved the "elves are supposed to have a way with animals" teasing! Author Reply: This story is an amalgamation of two others I posted some time ago, with a new title, and a major rewrite in some places, and will probably lead straight into a third. So it's likely to be rather long! I'm glad you like it though. Poor Legolas didn't have much luck with animals in this chapter, did he? Jay | |
