| Finally got a few moments to read chapter 1, but no time for chapter 2! Ah, well, something to look forward to. I just love the "realness" of your stories... *** His usually stern countenance softened as he watched Frodo instinctively cup his hands around the puppy on his chest as if to shield her from… something. The tiny dog inspected his sleeve and nosed inside it. You’ve moved right in, haven’t you?” Bilbo whispered, crouching to pat the dog on the head. “You rascal.” The pup thumped her small tail on the bed, narrowly missing Frodo’s nose. Bilbo chuckled and gave her a few more pats, before blowing out the lamp and leaving the room -- feeling quite satisfied with the evening’s outcome. *** Moments like these "make" a story and bring the characters to life. | Awwwww!!!!!! That is such a cute beginning! Scamp is too cute! And the way she just sort of picked Frodo was so adorable. I can hardly wait to see where this story goes. | Hey! I'm back! I love the beginnings of this story! Scamp is such a cute name for a dog! I'm glad you didn't name it Anna though, because that is my name. Don't get me wrong, it was a good idea, but all the same, I'm glad you didn't. It would have been weird reading a story about a dog with my name. But I would have read it anyway! | LOL - I particularly like this as I sleep with my dog and three cats....best housemates I have ever had! I like this start, and young Frodo is just terrific in his fear of dogs. Farmer Maggot may have gotten his point across, but it has taken poor Frodo a long time to get over it! | |
