A fantastic tale. The Epilogue is so sad, it made me cry.

My heart breaks for Thranduil every time Legolas and the sea-longing is mentioned. I know I should feel sorry for Elrond even more, but it's always Thranduil whom I mourn with.

So, Thranduil must remain in the forest for it to heal properly? An interesting idea. He really has gone native among the Wood-Elves, for all that he used to be a Sindarin aristocrat, hasn't he?

All hail the Elvenking who managed to defend his realm without any magic Noldorin trinkets!

So, Thranduil expects Gandalf to somehow escape final death and to return? Very perceptive of him. How sad that the letters of the fathers were never read, though.

I like the reasons Elrond gave for sending Legolas on the Quest. They make eminent sense if I think about it.

I went back browsing older stories, and to my great joy found this one. A shame that it has no reviews at all - it is excellent. I loved how the two stubborn Elf-Lords had to make peace because their wives were fed up with the nonsense. *g*

Glorfindel helping Thranduil to bury Oropher was very touching, though.
