As being the little sis to two older brothers... I love Arwen!!!

I had to laugh so hard when I read this line: They could hear her on the far side, hopping from one foot to the other with impatience, urging them to hurry. “Oh, come on, you two! Someone will catch us up soon! I can hear another team coming up the bank!”

And that moment just before the finish how they carried her over it! How can you not love the Lord's little rascals?

Author Reply: I know that the twins were in fact much older than Arwen than I've got them here (they were adults of 111 when she was born). I wanted them to grow up together for this story though, so I could do scenes like that. I think they were very fond of their little sister, even if they do tease her.

Great chapter!

One of the delights of reading a long story (or a series, or a series of series!) is the references to preceding chapters/storylines - it anchors the chapter/story into the 'verse. This time it was:

"“You remember!” Elladan paused then. “Oh – no, you don’t do you? Sorry, El!”

Ha! Great stuff.

I like Legolas's championship of the LLRs and hope it doesn't backfire on him - it's hard enough that he had to give up competing in other events, without him losing because of a bad-tempered, ill-natured, son-of-an-orc ... oops, is it ok to use language like that?

Thanks again.

Author Reply: Poor Elrohir - he never did regain his memories of that incident, but the others sometimes forget. I do like to link back to earlier events, it reminds readers of what happened.

I'm afraid Legolas will have further run-ins with the judge - read on! Next chapter will be up in the next few days.

I hope you're sitting down, Jay, because otherwise, you might fall over laughing at me for what I'm going to say. I read this chapter long ago on ff.net. But today is the first day that I have understood the events. For some reason, I had it fixed in my head that the 3 team members had their legs tied together, like in a 3-legged race formation. I could never figure out how any of the race took place with their legs tied together. Don't ask me how I made such a silly mistake. It certainly wasn't anything that you wrote. But for the longest time, I thought you had taken leave of your literary senses with this chapter. Imagine me trying to figure out how Arwen could go under the log while the twins went over it if the 3 were tied together! I kept going cross-eyed trying to get it figured out in my head. Good grief!

Ah well, I finally caught on today that 3 runners weren't tied together. The race makes so much more sense now! I hope you get a good laugh out of my confusion. I deserved it. :)

Author Reply: It sounds intriguing - I never meant to confuse anyone, but you're not the only reviewer who thought they were tied together! 'Three person' just meant that they all had to complete the course, and cross the finish line together. Thank you - you have given me a wonderful mental image!

yay for Arwen! and all other little folk. What an exciting race I almost feel out of breath.
Poor old Leggy - lets hope the judge can remain unbiased for his moment in the sun.
Keep up the good work
Rose

Author Reply: The twins thought that they would surely loose if Arwen took part (mainly because she was so much younger than the others) - but they underestimated their sister! I'm afraid Legolas is going to pay for his actions with Finglas.
