I loved it! Eowyn's still a Tom-boy; still riding and dressing like a man. Oh well. Kids are so cute!

This is very sweet, and very naturally written. You can just hear the big brother teasing the little sister because that's the job of a big brother, and you can also see the strong bond between them. After all, Eomer does let Eowyn play with his horses occasionally, and I'm sure that if anyone else were to tease her about Yule presents, he would not be happy with them.

The adults are amusing as well. They keep telling Eowyn to keep her toys clean, although I'm sure they know it's a losing battle, but one they feel they must fight anyway.

The only quibble here is your mention of the date. It's about three years off from the ages you want Eowyn and Eomer to be. At five and nine, the year should probably be 3000 or 3001 rather than 2997, but that certainly has no bearing on the essential charmingness of this story.

What a lovely story, I like reading Eomer any age but childhood ones are always interesting.
