This short character sketch held my attention. I enjoyed that the writer portrayed Legolas as liking to kill the Orcs. Not many Legolas authors are willing to concded any faults; not that liking to kill Orcs is necessarily a fault.

If the style is experimental, did you mean the first person voice? Or the short character sketch? You seem competent in both, and I'm a reader who prefers third person action adventure. Nice job. - Chathol-linn

Author Reply: Thanks, Chathol-linn. Yes, it was my first experiment in first person, and both the short character sketch and the sort of stilted flow were also experiments. It's not really poetry, but it is a strange sort of prose, I guess. I normally write in longer paragraphs, with more descriptive language and narrative tone. I like first person quite a bit, but I think it works best when used sparingly. All the stories I have posted here are in first person, and they are all retrospective type works. I think first person POV works best in that circumstance. My longer stories tend to be more prose-like and are written in third person.

I am glad you like this one; thanks so much for the feedback and interesting topic of conversation.
