I've read the book so I know he comes around soner or later. He does doesn't he? I'm beginning to worry about Merry. He is fighting so hard and getting nowhere. He better not give up! I don't think it was over-the-top. Seems to me to be a very unique look at what it might be like to struggle for conciousness. I hope Pippin talks to Merry some more and cries a bit less as the tears seem to be upsetting Merry more than they are helping. Where is Strider with "the hands of the king are healing hands"?
