The Way Home  by Lindelea 3 Review(s)

Aha! Caught up at last! Bob's proved to himself that he needs to take care of his barely healed body, and has to take it far more gently. A lovely look at the stable's inhabitantw, both equine and two-legged.

Author Reply: Good job! What a marathon! I cannot thank you enough for the lovely reviews; they are so heartening.

It was good to see you the other day, and I'm glad to see your new story. I'm looking forward to reading it, probably tomorrow, when I can savor it at my leisure. (I've been subject to interruptions today.) Poor Bob. Hobbits tend to heal at an astonishing rate, or so it seems, and yet they can also suffer from lingering injury, as Frodo revealed. Still, here's hoping for slow but steady progress over the months to come. Perhaps he'll be fully restored now that the King has come back?

Well, I'm glad This-Bob-the-Ostler is back on his feet, even if he isn't 100%. He seems to have a very Tookish attitude about it too.

Author Reply: The Tooks are probably the most infamous among hobbit families and clans for having that attitude, as you point out, but I think it's also plausible for other hobbits who love their work to chafe at restrictions imposed by health challenges. At least nobody's had to threaten to sit on him yet...

Thanks!

Spring at last! I wonder if Bill will somehow sense, even in dreams, any part of the fall of Sauron and the honoring of his dear Master and Sam.

Oh no, what a miserable virus! I'm glad you're on the mend, but am sending hugs and Light-filled thoughts for you.

Author Reply: I think it is quite possible that Bill will connect with his dear hobbits at some point or other, especially during times of intense emotions, just as in his dreams of the Golden Wood around the time that Sam and Frodo looked in the Mirror of Galadriel.

I appreciate the hugs and the Light. I'm over the bug, but not quite back to writing an hour or two a day as I was earlier. Thanks for thinking good thoughts.
