| What a lovely beginning and certainly an interesting take on Sam's birth that I have not read before. I love Gildor's words to the little babe. And the ending. | *SQUEE!!* Now this is a marvelous beginning! I certainly did not expect you to start all the way back at Sam's birth! And I love the idea that he was named and blessed by an Elf! That would so account for his lifelong fascination with them! Author Reply: *squees with you* When you made your personal request, that idea immediately popped in my head, remembering why Sam - even pre-quest - was so fascinated by the elves and then I thought... why not take the challenge a tad further, an elf many generations apart helps Sam during his first hours on Arda. I nam trying to cover the important milestones in his life where there was interaction with an elf, just written in a kinda gapfiller style. I am so glad that you like it! | |
