| Really interesting idea that Morgoth exploited a pain that was already there in Finwe's family. Author Reply: Thanks! I always thought that Tolkien had intended that -- he didn't flesh out Fëanor or his family enough for my liking, but neither did he leave them as one-dimensional bad guys who were vulnerable to Melkor's overtures just because someone had to be in order for the story to move forward. | |
