Locke And Key  by NaughtyNettie 7 Review(s)

I am beginning to love this story as much as your other one. You truly put a lot of thought and talent into your writing. This one again is unique: the mystery of what happend to Estel and Legolas, the deep concern of their friends and family, and the kindness of Adras. Legolas' confusion as he struggles with his memory loss and injuries is once again very believable.
I am looking forward to reading more of this.

So far this is an excellent. I can't wait until there is more to read. Nice job!

Author Reply: Thank you very much! I am glad that you are enjoying it :o)

I think Adras was very wise to try to distract Locke. Shucking corn gave him something to do to keep his mind off his troubles. Brooding was only going to make him sick.

Adras is just really sweet. He seems to know just what to say and do to help Locke along.

Hopefully that key will be found soon, and Legolas will be able to come back.

Author Reply: Distraction can be very helpful at times, thank goodness for good friends. I am glad that you like Adras and that you are enjoying the story. Thank you for reviewing!

Adras is doing a great job in caring for his amnesiac elf. And Legolas is recovering - slowly, it is true, but he is recovering physically. And it is surprising what you remember when you forget all sorts of other things. I don't think the elf is well enough yet to be really worried. But it will come.

Author Reply: Adras has needed something to care about for a while now and the elf was just what the doctor ordered. Thank you again for reviewing and sticking with this story :o)

Some lovely moments here. Adras's affection will help heal Legolas's spirit and he needs that.

Author Reply: The are both helping each other and lucky to have stumbled across one another :o)

This is a sweet chapter. Legolas feels comfortable in the company Ardas, the old man eases his fears and gives him corn to shuck. A simple task but rekindles something inside him, comfort and hope.
What a comfort at least he has, no memory, but someone who cares...

Author Reply: I think you hit it on the head. They both are gaining something from one another and it is sometimes that simple things that can be the most therapeutic. Thank you!

Beautiful!

My, I hate to mention that corn (maize) is found only in the Americas.
Small detail.

Praise to you for keeping the spoken words and the speaker together in
separate paragraphs. The story flows easily. I have read several stories
earlier tonight and I was beginning to think my mind wasn't working as
they were very hard to understand, but your story tells me this is not
the case; they were simply not as skilled as you are.

Just some comments:

Scuffing of another chair being dragged and place

I looked this up, thinking you meant another word. Scuffing can mean
touching or brushing lightly in passing or moving the feet with a draggin
motion, not lifting them from the floor.

I try to look up words before I mention them; I've been potentially
embarrased before as "words" I thought were not words turned out to
be bonafide words. Oh, well.

Thank you for portraying a very good human being. One gets tired of all
the miserably evil beings in fan fics. Your skill is very much admired.

My only request in any fan fic is the preservation of the legitimate
spelling for the verb to sneak (sneak, sneaked, has/have sneaked).

Author Reply: I thought corn would be one of those things that is easy to do and everyone just knows how to do it. It felt right.

Thank you for your kind words and I am glad that people are liking Adras :o)
