Celeborn's anger seems very understandable. More so, really, than Elrond and Galadriel's welcome. Although I suspect that a lot of that is manners - and that there is considerable wary suspicion beneath the surface.
And Celeborn is unable to maintain his rudeness more than is won over by Mithrandir's charm really. Been a diplomat too long. But then - so has Mithrandir. Perfecting the soft answer that turns away wrath. Just as well really. But still - I think Celeborn's words needed to be spoken. |

A wonderful coming to terms between the two of them; and I agree that Celeborn's concerns and anger is indeed justified. Love Gandalf's humility through it all. |

Very good piece of writing! :-) I agree with Celeborn's original mood, more than his finally mood. I do not think the welfare of the elves that remained in Middle-earth much concerned Gandalf; he would have sacrificed all of them to achieve his goal without so much as a word of warning. |
