| O I am beaming! This is absolutely delightful! You have a sure grasp of both characters, Sam and my beloved Merry. And what a wonderful turn of phrase: "gentle as his birth". Very nice play on words. You have painted such a vivid picture I can easily see it in my head, the two of them down on their knees, hands in the dirt, talking... Author Reply: Oh, thank you! *blushes* This is one of my first tries at drabbles but I think Sam and Merry really are close friends - despite all their differences. :) | |
