| This is an interesting idea, and I'm curious to see where you take it. Certainly I would love to see how the members of the Fellowship interact, before there is a Fellowship. I don't know if you're planning to make this AU, or to stick to canon. If the latter, you'll have to be careful on a couple of points. One is that Legolas makes it clear in ROTK that prior to the encounter at Pelennor fields, he had never seen the sea, nor heard a seagull. So you'll want to be careful that he doesn't actually accompany his mother all the way to the Havens, unless you decide to make the story AU. Also, I'm a little unclear on the timing of this story -- is Frodo still at Buckland at this time? In any case it was implied at the Council of Elrond that he had not seen Legolas, at least, before - or so I interpret from his description of "a strange Elf clad in green and brown." That's a little more open to interpretation, but also a factor to consider if you have Frodo meeting the other members of the Fellowship. This is a good beginning. I'm looking forward to more. | Wow. This is a great story! I really like the idea that Legolas and Gimli are friends before FOTR. I hope u update really soon, I can't wait to see how poor Merry takes to finding an elf and a dwarf on his midnight walk, this should be interesting to see how he reacts and how they get along.
