| What a fun chapter, with the visitors and the birth of baby Faramir. Fatherhood will be good for Pippin! And I loved the conversation between Sam and Merry at the end. It always seemed odd that Sam would agree to be mayor, he’s so humble - it makes complete sense that perhaps it had some to do with Frodo’s wishes. And of course that little thought taking root that just maybe he’ll see Frodo again someday… Lovely chapter, thx for writing! Author Reply: Thank you! Somehow I couldn't quite imagine Sam going for Mayor as his own idea, so I envisioned a few gentlehobbits (Freddy Bolger and the other three Travellers, mostly) working on him to consider the idea in various stories.
