Bard and the Arkenstone
Bard stared at the thing in his hand, beautiful beyond any imaginings, it seemed to glow with a light of its own. He shuddered, and very carefully laid it down upon the table. With effort he let go, one finger at a time. He looked up to see the Elven-king looking at him with an expression of pity and understanding in his eyes. Then both of them turned to look at the pavilion's opening, through which a very valiant, clever little creature had so recently passed.
He had never before seen such bravery and generosity in such a small package
