It has been a long road home, since parting with our beloved sister. Our hearts have been heavy with the quiet grief of our father, who has spoken to us only to tell us that soon he will take the Straight Path.

Yet the presence of four hobbits has undeniably lightened the mood. It is their magic, which they do not know they possess, and that makes it all the stronger.

We know that the Ring-bearer understands; we see it in his eyes. Do the others? Do they look at us and see a reflection of their own loss to come?
