Your Light Has Drawn Me Out of Darkness  by Nerdanel

My love, thou art so fair and blest,

Each tress that lightens o’er thy face,

And every witness of thy grace

Hath sung my mind and heart to rest.

Thy soul did reach out to mine own,

The day that from thy lips I heard

A whisper of thy spoken word,

And knew it was for me alone.

The cheer and beauty of thy smile,

Have lighted me within my dark,

Wherein thou art a flaming spark,

The light God gave me for a while.

Thou hauntest me within my dreams,

Asleep or waking. On my breast

All thoughts of thee do ever rest,

And waft me gently down life’s streams.

And in my dreams each darkened night

Thy shining face would then appear,

And sing away thoughts cold and drear,

And lift the darkness into light.

Within thy face and on thy heart,

The features all which I adore

Are gathered there in secret store,

And measured greatly in each part.

The gift He gave me to the end,

The sharer of my toils and fears,

The maker of my happy tears,

My soul-mate throughout all the years,

My love, my confidante, and friend.
