Timeline: Rohan, SR 1419, the night after the Company of Elves, Gandalf and the hobbits leave Aragorn, Arven, Èomer and Eowyn and Treebeard has invited Merry and Pippin for a last farewell drink.

Rating: PG-13 for drunken hobbit talk and sillyness.

”I do believe I`ve drunk too much.”

“How so?”

“I don`t feel very well.”

“Oh.”

“Mer?”

“Yes, Pip?”

“I don`t feel very well either.”

“See. You`ve had too much too.”

“What`s that noise?”

“What noise?”

“That.”

“Oh, It`s just the horses grazing Merry.”

“Hmph.”

“What?”

“Ponies doesn`t graze that loudly.”

“They don`t?”

“No!”

“All right then.”

“You don`t suppose it was ordinary ent draught Treebeard gave us, do you?”

“Why shouldn`t it be?”

“Because we haven`t had wine or ale for days and no-one else is feeling sick or complaining about the amount of noise around here.”

“True.”

“But, Merry. Do you think he did it on purpose?”

“Who?”

“Treebeard.”

“What?”

“Gave us another kind of ent draught than the ones we`ve had before.”

“No.”

“What? You think he misplaced it for the ones he gave us before?”

“I don`t know, Pippin.”

“But what if it does something else to us. Maybe we`ll start growing leaves.”

“I don`t think so, Pippin. Do you feel twigs starting to come out of your head?”

“No.”

“That`s too bad.”

“What?”

“Because it would explain why you ask so many daft questions.”

“Merry!”

“It would have been interesting though. You do look good in green.”

“Pippin!”

“It`s true.”

“No it`s not.”

“Yes it is. You just won`t admit that you care about what you wear.”

“I don`t!”

“Yes you do.”

“Don`t!”

“You do so.”

“Pip, do you think we will grow any more? Because I really like this green and white uniform and I would hate to grow out of it.”
