Trappings of the Corporeal  by Iorhael

(2)

The iron door to the chamber slammed closed behind the Ringwraiths’ backs startling the Dark Lord making him curse exasperatedly but he was too late. The once kings of men had already been on their way on the pursuit of some Baggins in the land called the Shire.

Sauron would have never imagined having to seek his precious to such a faraway country if not for the creature called Gollum. What a foolish mortal being. It poured everything out at the lightest tickle of one of Sauron’s torture contraption after a wicked ploy of destiny ensnared it into the clutches of the Lord of all evil.

In a way he pitied the creature. It should have been able to flee avoiding being captured by the hands of Sauron had it been an unearthly being like him. Gollum’s state of being corporeal had trapped itself and made it exposed to any of its foes. Moreover, as a living thing, Gollum was subject to feeling any kinds of pains.

Slithering across the dark corridor of Barad-Dur and across the arid terrain of Gorgoroth to go back to the tower where the Eye lay, the light of Sauron knew how lucky he was to be unbound from any forms of embodiment.
