Seeking West  by Elvenesse

Long have I travelled, ever striving west -
The way is perilous on every side,
Yet I mean to achieve this hopeless quest.

The land is tainted, we cannot abide
In a world that is growing bleaker. Night
Brings new terrors from which we cannot hide.

Phantoms beg for the end of evil's blight
In dreams now darkening with warnings dire,
I am my people's lord - for them I fight.

I go forward, the waves rising higher.
The way is barred, it is clear to see
Ahead and behind lie portents of fire.

For all races I deliver this plea:
We labour for a land both fair and free.
