The Shortcut

“I think we should go that way.”  Elrohir pointed to a narrow path that led through dense woodland.  “It would be quicker.”

“Maybe.  But our last shortcut through woods nearly ended in disaster,”  Elladan reminded him.

“That was not my fault!”

“No?  That is not my recollection.  Someone led us along a path that ended in a sheer cliff – and then decided we should climb down.  It was as well that those dwarves came by when they did, or we may have been stuck for some time.”

“That was not my fault!” 

Elladan smiled.  “No.  Of course not, little brother.”
