Hello, SoA authors and readers! 

Recently, it came to the attention of the site admins that a "paid" artist has been soliciting authors to contact them to illustrate their stories. This activity does not fit the intent behind the creation and continuation of Stories of Arda as an archive of lovingly crafted fanfiction set in the Lord of the Rings universe. The authors have invested hours of time and thought, without any hope or expectation of payment but merely for the love of the characters and the world they inhabit.

PLEASE NOTE THIS ADDITION: Posting reviews to a story on an archive with offers of illustrating the work is a known scam that has appeared on other fanfic archives such as AO3. Please do not reply to such offers!

As the disclaimer at the top of the SoA homepage states:

The world of J.R.R. Tolkien is owned by Tolkien Enterprises and/or New Line Cinema. No money is made from these stories. The stories are the intellectual property of the author(s) and should not be reproduced without their permission.

This is a reminder that the purpose of this site remains as providing a platform for sharing site users' personal enjoyment of the riches Tolkien provided in his works. Any commercial activity, such as posting advertisements, is counterproductive. Please do not advertise products or services on the site in any form, including reviews, and thank you for your understanding. Authors, it seems like a good idea to delete any such reviews attached to your chapters.
